Why IELTS Matters for Study Abroad from India
IELTS is accepted by 11,500+ universities across 140 countries. For Indian students, a 6.0 vs 7.0 IELTS band can mean the difference between a conditional offer and an unconditional offer — and for some scholarships, the difference between getting funded or not.

Section-by-Section Tips
Listening (40 questions, 30 min)
- Read questions before each section plays
- Answers follow the order of the recording
- Don't let one missed answer affect the next — move on
- Practice with BBC Radio 4, TED Talks, Cambridge IELTS books
Reading (40 questions, 60 min)
- Skim passage first (2 min), then answer questions
- "Not Given" = not mentioned at all — don't confuse with "False"
- Practice 3 passages in 60 minutes without stopping
Writing (2 tasks, 60 min)
- Task 1 (20 min, 150 words): Describe the graph/chart — cover main trend, key features. Never give your opinion.
- Task 2 (40 min, 250 words): Essay — state position in intro, 2 body paragraphs with examples, strong conclusion. Counts more than Task 1.
Speaking (11–14 min, face-to-face)
- Part 1: Familiar topics — be natural, expand answers
- Part 2: Cue card — prepare 1 minute, speak 1–2 minutes
- Part 3: Abstract discussion — use discourse markers ("On the other hand…", "However…")
- Fluency beats accuracy — don't pause to search for perfect words
